Important context for understanding ClaimEasy’s role, reported outcomes and website information.
1. Claim consulting role
ClaimEasy provides insurance claim assessment, technical assistance and grievance support. It is not an insurance company and cannot approve, reject or pay a claim. References to “defending,” “fighting” or “taking forward” a claim describe professional assistance and representation within the scope lawfully agreed.
2. Outcome depends on the individual case
Whether a claim is payable depends on the policy contract, proposal and disclosure history, facts of loss, evidence, insurer assessment, applicable law and the decision of the relevant authority. A preliminary positive view does not guarantee settlement.
3. Reported statistics
The website states that ClaimEasy has resolved more than 80% of matters through insurer grievance redressal and has achieved a 100% success rate in Ombudsman matters handled to date. These figures were supplied by ClaimEasy for website content. They should be supported by internal case records, reviewed periodically and presented with the relevant time period and sample size when available. Past performance is not indicative of a guaranteed future result.
4. Legal proceedings
Some matters may require proceedings before a consumer forum, court or other legal authority. Legal advice and appearance should be provided by a qualified legal professional under the applicable engagement. ClaimEasy’s consulting fee does not automatically include court fee, counsel fee, expert fee or other litigation expense unless the written agreement expressly says so.
5. Official grievance routes
A policyholder may approach the insurer directly and may use official grievance mechanisms without engaging ClaimEasy, subject to current eligibility and procedure. Official information should be verified from the insurer, IRDAI/Bima Bharosa and the Council for Insurance Ombudsmen.
6. Limitation periods and deadlines
Insurance complaints and legal proceedings can be subject to time limits. Contacting ClaimEasy or submitting a web form does not extend, pause or preserve any deadline. Policyholders should seek prompt advice and independently protect their rights while an assessment is underway.
